Short definitions of key terms used on ScorePlay.

Naming (product copy)

  • Weekly ladders use two-word titles: Score Qualification (open) and Score Champions (elite). In tight UI they may show as Qualification / Champions next to their icons.
  • The point currency is ScorePoints (one word). SP is the abbreviation next to numbers. Do not write SP Points (redundant).

SP / ScorePoints

ScorePoints (SP) is the point system that powers the leaderboard. You earn SP from accurate predictions, with the most for the exact score. The more accurate and consistent you are, the more SP you earn. SP reflects knowledge and accuracy, not capital.

Free play

Free play is the main way to play ScorePlay: predict scorelines for free. Available worldwide (except sanctioned countries). Earn ScorePoints and compete on the leaderboard.

USDC pool

The USDC pool is an optional way to play in some regions: a $5 USDC entry on Base puts you in a shared pool where the top of the leaderboard splits the pot. You compete against other players, not the house. Only available where permitted by law. Requires a wallet connection.

Leaderboard

The leaderboard ranks players by ScorePoints (SP). The app includes All-time, Score Qualification (weekly open ladder), and Score Champions (weekly elite ladder). On normal weeks both run together: the same competitive SP from the same picks counts on the open ladder for everyone and on the elite ladder for eligible Champions players only. Rankings reflect accuracy, not capital.

Score Qualification

Score Qualification is the open weekly ladder: everyone is ranked by competitive SP from matches whose kickoff falls in that competition week. Top 25 (and the Champions path below) help you qualify for Score Champions the next week.

Score Champions

Score Champions is the elite weekly bracket: only eligible players that week; same SP as Score Qualification for that week, ranked among that group. The top half share the USDC prize (podium takes 25 / 15 / 10 percent, the rest of the top half split the remaining 50 percent); top 10 stay on the Champions path next week, or you can re-enter via Score Qualification top 25. Week 0 after a season: Champions is off until the next period; use the app week rail for dates.

Oracle

An oracle is the system or data source that provides the official match result used to settle predictions. ScorePlay uses oracles to determine which predictions were correct and to award ScorePoints and settle USDC entries.

Prediction

A prediction is your chosen scoreline for a match, which also implies the winner. In free play, predictions are free and earn SP when correct. With USDC, you can back specific scorelines in the pool where the product supports it.

Compete

Compete is the main play page where you see upcoming matches and submit predictions. Visit Compete to start playing.

Geoblocking

Geoblocking means restricting certain features (e.g. the USDC pool) by region for legal compliance. Free play is available in most countries; the USDC pool is only shown where permitted. Using a VPN to bypass restrictions violates our Terms.

Activated user

An activated user is someone who has completed enough activity to be counted as engaged, e.g. 3+ free predictions or 1+ USDC entry. Used for funnel and retention metrics.
